Adani Wilmar commences its operations at Sonipat with nearly 1,300 crore investment

Jan 24, New Delhi: Edible oil firm Adani Wilmar Ltd has commenced operations at its new food processing plant in Sonipat, Haryana. The company has invested nearly Rs 1,298 crore.

In a regulatory filing on 24 January 2025, the new Adani Wilmar claimed that the company has commenced operations at its integrated food processing plant in Gohana City, District Sonipat. The plant is expected to produce a variety of food products including oil and flour. It will lead to the generation of 2,000 jobs. The facility is anticipated to generate 2,00 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the area.

The facility spans 85 acres with a total annual production of 6.27 lakh tonnes. The plant will manufacture 4,50,000 tonnes of food products including cereals such as rice, wheat flour, suji, rawa, and maida.

The plant will also produce 2 lakh tonnes of edible oils such as mustard Oil, rice bran oil, and cottonseed oil. The plant has a total annual production capacity of 6.27 lakh tonnes and spans 85 acres. It will manufacture 4,50,000 tonnes of food products such as rice, wheat flour, suji, rawa, and maida, along with 2 lakh tonnes of edible oils like mustard oil, rice bran oil, and cottonseed oil.

The location of the plant, Haryana is well known for its agricultural richness which ensures that raw materials offer a direct market for local farmer’s produce. In the last month, the Adani Business group announced its exit from Adani Wilar which makes Fortune brand cooking oil, flour, and other related food products.
