A serious incident has been reported from the Banjarawala region of Dehradun, where a Muslim family was attacked with iron rods and knives by 5–6 people when they were going to a wedding ceremony. The attackers allegedly asked them for their names and religion before proceeding with the attack. After this incident, tension has settled over the area.
When informed about this, police rushed to the area and commenced an inquiry. Local civilians had condemned the act of assault and urged swift action against the perpetrators. After the beating, there is an intensified presence of security officials in the zone. It also drew forth reactions from numerous sectors on various platforms.
People of the locality reacted to the act with worries of what would transpire afterward, as they underlined the urgency for ensuring continued peaceful cohabitation. It is hoped that the police will soon arrest the perpetrators and resolve the matter. According to reports, the incident appears similar to the Pahalgam attack, as the assailants asked for the victims’ names and religion before attacking. Currently, the police are thoroughly investigating the matter.
