New Delhi, May 10: Indian-Pak tensions have peaked after a chain of provocative actions were initiated on either side. The Operation Sindoor by India to strike several terror camps deep within Pakistan was in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack that cost the lives of so many soldiers. This act of bravery spurred a swift retaliatory action by Islamabad, wherein attempts were made to launch retaliation on various cities in India, all of which were successfully defended by the Indian military.
Though things took a turn for the worse towards the latter half of Friday and continued throughout Saturday as well. Pakistan supposedly conducted fresh drone attacks along the border areas of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. A series of explosions rang out over cities such as Jammu, Srinagar, Pathankot, Firozpur, and even Pokhran. Power blackouts occurred in key places. Srinagar is said to have remained in utter darkness overnight. The Indian Army reacted quickly and successfully destroyed many Pakistani drones at Firozpur.
With the intensity heightened, three big Pakistani airbases witnessed massive explosions, hinting at internal troubles or potential accidents. Pakistan’s Prime Minister reacted by summoning an emergency meeting of the National Command Authority — an unusual and grave step reflecting Islamabad’s increasing nervousness.
Meanwhile, back in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called a high-level security meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force Chiefs, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Sources reveal that the meeting discussed preparedness and strategic measures.
There was also gunfire and shelling overnight in Rajouri, where civilians and troops waited out heavy cross-Line of Control firing.
The escalation has placed the whole region on high alert, with citizens advised to stay calm and alert. International observers are keenly watching the developing crisis.
