Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Improvement, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will lead the Indian delegation at the fifteenth BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ meeting (AMM) in Brasilia, Brazil. This year’s assembly is themed ‘Fostering Inclusive and Sustainable Agriculture through Collaboration, Innovation, and Truthful Change among BRICS international locations’. The gathering will see participation from Agriculture Ministers and senior officers representing the BRICS bloc and its improved countries, consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Iran.
Chouhan’s itinerary consists of bilateral discussions with key Brazilian ministers, together with Carlos Henrique Baqueta Fávaro, Minister of Agriculture and farm animals, and Luiz Paulo Teixeira, Minister of Agrarian Improvement and Family Farming. Those engagements intend to boost cooperation between India and Brazil in agri-tech, rural development, food safety, and agricultural innovation.
The minister will even tour to São Paulo to meet with prominent leaders from Brazil’s agribusiness zone and contributors of the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries. These interactions will explore possibilities for mutual investment and collaboration throughout the rural value chain.
Highlighting India’s commitment to environmental stewardship, Chouhan will take part in a tree planting event at the Indian Embassy in Brasilia, as a part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ marketing campaign, an initiative promoting ecological recognition and paying tribute to motherhood. Also, the minister will connect with members of the Indian network in São Paulo, spotlighting their role in nurturing cultural ties and enhancing people-to-people relationships between India and Brazil.
This high-level go-to reinforces India’s resolve to deepen engagement with BRICS international locations and support joint efforts in building resilient, revolutionary, and sustainable agricultural structures.
