16 April, Agra: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Agra on Tuesday evening to inaugurate the Bhimnagari Mahotsav. Upon reaching the stage, followers of Baba Saheb Ambedkar welcomed him by illuminating mobile flashlights. During his address, CM Yogi launched a sharp critique of Congress and the SP. He stated that these parties only engage in politics in the name of Baba Saheb, having neither allowed him to win elections nor awarded him the Bharat Ratna in a timely manner. He accused them of obstructing the construction of the memorial.
CM Yogi asserted that the nation would operate under the Constitution crafted by Baba Saheb, not Shariat. Referring to the initiatives of the central and state governments, he noted that numerous schemes are currently in place for the poor, marginalized, and Dalit communities.Before CM Yogi spoke, MP Puran Prakash chanted slogans of ‘Jai Shri Krishna’ and ‘Radhe-Radhe’, which drew protests from some attendees. Addressing the situation, the MLA apologized and exclaimed ‘Jai Bhim’.
CM Yogi emphasized the importance of keeping Baba Saheb’s ideals alive, stating that this four-day event in Agra exemplifies that commitment. Recalling Baba Saheb’s visit to Agra in 1956, he reminded the audience of his messages regarding education, organization, and struggle. CM Yogi urged people to avoid blind followership and instead embrace the teachings of Baba Saheb.He claimed that those who insult the Constitution also insult Baba Saheb, a behavior that will not be tolerated. He recounted how Congress defeated Baba Saheb twice in elections, attempted to alter the preamble, and obstructed the construction of the memorial. He credited the BJP for enabling the establishment of a grand memorial in Delhi.
Comparing India and Pakistan, CM Yogi noted that while India is advancing, people in Pakistan are struggling to meet their basic needs. He criticized the opposition’s silence regarding the injustices faced by Hindus in Bangladesh, suggesting that such individuals should be dealt with sternly.He highlighted that the BJP government has worked on restoring Baba Saheb’s memorial in Mumbai, along with initiatives like the Panch Teerth Yojana and scholarships for Scheduled Caste students. Memorials and research centers dedicated to Baba Saheb are also being developed in Lucknow and Agra.
The Ambedkar Research Center will focus on studying his thoughts, social policy, and foreign policy, while students will receive scholarships. Additionally, the government is implementing a campaign to provide ration, Ayushman cards, pensions, and job opportunities for the impoverished.Due to the Bhimnagari Mahotsav, traffic regulations will be modified in Sector-11 of Awas Vikas Colony from 2 pm on April 15 to 17.
