3 Jan Friday 2025: Congress MP and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi have moved against the BJP government on the social issue of employment and youth. In a recent debate on the Indian Constitution in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, in his speech invoked the story of Eklavya from the Mahabharata to criticize the ruling BJP government. Gandhi compared the government’s actions to Dronacharya’s treatment of Eklavya, suggesting that the BJP is “chopping off the thumbs of the youth of the country.” He argued that just as Dronacharya asked Eklavya to cut off his thumb as a gesture of respect, the government is harming the potential of youth and small businesses.
Gandhi specifically mentioned the government’s favoritism towards the Adani Group and the Agniveer scheme as examples of how the BJP is hindering opportunities for the youth and other disadvantaged groups. During this time, he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.
Congress posted on X on January 2, the caption said ‘Students are agitating democratically regarding the irregularities of #MPPSC and their demands Sending @Radhejat1983 and @Ranjeetfarmer to jail is the height of injustice by the Mohan government! The Mohan government should immediately withdraw the false cases filed against them.’ He wrote on X that failure in government recruitment is a big injustice. First, the recruitment is announced, and then exams are not held on time. If the exams are held, the papers are leaked and when the youth demands justice, their voices are crushed ruthlessly.
He said that after the recent incidents in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar of students protesting against the irregularities in MPPSC in Madhya Pradesh, they have been out in jail. Especially, when the Chief Minister himself had met the students and assured them of considering their demands. The BJP government has broken the trust of the students and strangled the democratic system. We are with the students in their fight for rights. We will not let the BLP suppress the voice of the rights of the country at any cost.
