New Delhi: A French Senate delegation visiting India has expressed full support for India’s Operation Sindoor, a strong response to terror attacks linked to Pakistan, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor revealed on May 20, 2025. Speaking to NDTV, Tharoor, who leads the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, said the delegation used the French word “Soutien,” meaning full support, to describe their backing of India’s anti-terror efforts.
The operation was launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The French delegation arrived in India despite being aware of an Indian outreach team set to visit Europe this week to promote India’s stance against terrorism.
Tharoor also introduced the French senators to Lok Sabha MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, who will lead an Indian delegation to several European countries to further strengthen ties and highlight India’s resolve against terrorism. The French delegation emphasized that their support extends beyond rhetoric, signaling closer Indo-French cooperation.
Multiple Indian delegations, crossing party lines, are traveling worldwide to advocate against terrorism under Operation Sindoor. This collective effort aims to unite global partners in fighting terror threats.
