Prayagraj, Tuesday: The Sacred City of Prayagraj witnessed a unique blend of faith and philanthropy as Gautam Adani, a renowned industrialist attended the ongoing Maha Kumbh festivities. On the ninth day of this grand spiritual gathering, Adani immersed himself in service and devotion, drawing admiration from countless devotees.
Adani’s day started with a holy bath at the Triveni Sangam of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the fictitious Saraswati rivers. Adani went to the ISKCON camp where he worked as a volunteer at their community-serving kitchen (Bhandara) between 10:30 am and 11:30 am. Following this, Adani visited the ISKCON camp, where he served meals at the community kitchen (Bhandara) from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. His hands-on approach to serving devotees a hearty meal of roti, dal, rice, vegetables, and sweets was deeply appreciated.
The Adani Group, in collaboration with ISKCON and Geeta Press, has provided extensive help to the devotees during this Maha Kumbh. At least one lakh devotees are served Mahaprasad daily, prepared at a state-of-the-art kitchen near the DSA ground.
Apart from food, the Adani Group has also installed amenities to assist devotees such as providing golf carts for the old and kids as well as the handicapped to move around the busy fairgrounds with ease. For pilgrims who cannot walk great distances, battery-operated vehicles have been provided.
Adani’s day continued with a visit to the Bade Hanuman Temple, where he offered prayers to the reclining deity. He concluded his visit with a blissful boat ride to the Sangam to the Sangam, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve at such a divine event.
In a heartfelt social media post, Gautam Adani shared his thoughts, emphasizing that service is the highest form of patriotism. “Service is sadhana, service is prayer, and service is God,” he wrote after meeting ISKCON Guru Prasad Swami.
Meanwhile, philanthropist and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy also visited the Maha Kumbh, and expressed her delight at witnessing this relatively rare spiritual event, which she referred to as “Teerthraj.”
Like everything else, the Maha Kumbh is on an unparalleled scale when it comes to devotion and service and continues to inspire millions with the deepest blend of faith, tradition, and humanity.
