Jan 16 Thursday, 2025: Hindernberg Research’s founder Nathan Anderson has declared that he will disband the firm due to the all-encompassing nature of the work. He cited he would disband the firm whose reports sparked heavy short-selling by investors and investigations.
Hindenburg Research, a US-based short seller typically known for targeting several business groups, including the Adani Group and US-based Nikola has announced it will be disbanded. Nathan Anderson who started Hindenburg in 2017 said the toll of the “rather intense”, and at times, “all-encompassing” nature of work was the reason for the decision. The decision was announced through a website update on Wednesday.
The announcement was made on January 16, 2025, after Hindenburg’s reports that triggered significant short-selling by investors and investigations by authorities, leading to substantial declines in the market values of affected companies. In recent years, Gautam Adani had said that Hindenberg Research’s damning report against the Adani group was not just to destabilize the Apples into a conglomerate but to politically defame India’s government actions.
This year the company owner Anderson took to Ernie Garcia III’s by accusing him and his father of an “accounting grift for the ages.” The executive officer of a car retailer dismissed Hindernberg’s arguments as “intentionally misleading and inaccurate.”
