India

Pakistan media had already placed discussions centered around an impending Indian military incursion aimed at retaking PoK, and are now gripped with fear as speculations only further intensify with every passing day. The Indian home minister’s recent jaunt over the LoC sent shockwaves across this border, adding fuel to the fire.

The past couple of weeks have witnessed II Pakistani defense analysts draw striking conclusions from the Indian home minister’s recent engagement one being an assumption of an Indian invasion within a matter of 100 days. Reports suggest that the Pakistani military is indeed finalizing plans to construct a new garrison in the almost 230km away Swat Valley towards Srinagar. Satellite analysis has spotted construction sites purportedly building storage shelters and above-ground bunkers for advanced tactical aircraft.

Qamar Cheema, a Pakistani defense analyst and a commentator on the Indo-Pak relations, has shown great worry about the aggravating situation. In one of the videos which seems to have gone viral, Cheema claimed that the chance of India invading the LoC was very much possible.

“Management is a constant waiting game. Sometimes, a test missile launch is nothing more than a show,” he states explaining that Pakistan needs to be worried however his options are minimal. “Our job is to stay quiet because we do not have any cards to play.

The fear of losing PoK has led to a visible sense of urgency in Pakistan’s defense and political circles. Calls for peace talks with India have surfaced from within Pakistan, but Cheema lamented that India remains unwilling to engage, which further fuels Islamabad’s insecurity.

Despite the growing alarm, nationalist sentiment remains strong among some sections of the Pakistani public. In another viral clip, a Pakistani citizen claimed that the nation’s army has the strength and passion to retaliate and even “destroy India” if provoked. However, such statements have drawn ridicule, with critics pointing to historical defeats, including the 1971 surrender of 93,000 Pakistani troops and the outcomes of the 1965 and Kargil wars.

As tensions rise, the situation calls for restraint and mature diplomacy. While strategic preparedness is expected from any nation, inflammatory rhetoric, and war hysteria can only escalate the risk of conflict in a volatile region.
