May 7, New Delhi: In a decisive move under “Operation Sindoor,” the Indian Armed Forces conducted precision airstrikes on May 7, 2025, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Among the casualties were ten family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, including his sister and brother-in-law, at the group’s headquarters in Bahawalpur.
The operation was a direct response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. India attributed the attack to Pakistan-based terror outfits, prompting a series of retaliatory strikes on nine identified terror sites.
Key targets included JeM’s Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Markaz Taiba in Muridke. Over 80 terrorists were reportedly neutralized in these coordinated strikes.
Masood Azhar confirmed the deaths of his family members and close associates, labeling the strikes as an unprecedented escalation.
The Indian government emphasized that the operation targeted terrorist infrastructure with precision to minimize civilian casualties. Pakistan’s defense ministry has called for de-escalation, expressing readiness to “wrap up” tensions if India reciprocates.
As regional tensions mount, the international community watches closely, urging restraint from both nuclear-armed neighbors. Keep Reading Questiqa.in for more news.
