Dr.Inkhia warned that the flow might continue for some days and advised to not approach the area as a caution for an an incident. The area surrounding has been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Temporary police posts have been set up to enforce the evacuation order. there are discussions ongoing from the oil and gas company ONGC for technical assistance. A strong smell of gas lingers in the area, where water mud, and gas continue to erupt from the ground pit.
The possibility of the incident connected with the resurfacing of the Saraswati River is not confirmed. The videos around the internet are all true but the assumption made regarding the water flow of the Saraswati River is not backed by any proof. Groundwater scientist also said that the incident of the sudden inflow of so much water while digging the borewell surprised everyone.
