Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made serious accusations against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. He said that Gogoi went to Pakistan for 15 days, and some of his actions may have helped the Pakistani army.
The conflict between Sarma and Gogoi is getting more intense. Sarma said he has strong proof that Gogoi visited Pakistan. He mentioned that Gogoi’s travel in and out of the country is recorded at the Attari border. According to Sarma, Gogoi stayed in Islamabad for 15 days. His wife was with him for the first 7 days, but then she came back to India, while Gogoi stayed on.
Sarma also claimed that Gogoi did things in Pakistan that may have indirectly helped their military. After returning to India, Gogoi allegedly took around 90 boys and girls to the Pakistan Embassy. Most of them were not told that they were visiting the embassy, which Sarma said is worrying.
Sarma questioned whether Gogoi went to sensitive places like the Pakistani Army headquarters, Lahore, or Sindh. He said an investigation is happening, and officials are collecting passport and immigration records.
He also said that although Gogoi is an Indian citizen, his wife is British, and their children have different nationalities. So, Gogoi may change his passport in the future.
