Gandhari revolves around a mother’s relentless quest to rescue her kidnapped child, promising a storyline filled with determination, emotion, and high-stakes action. The title draws inspiration from the character Gandhari in the Indian epic Mahabharata known for her act of blindfolding herself to share her husband’s blindness. The film will re-examine such symbolism in a modern context with revenge and redemption at its heart.Â
Taapsee shared the news with her followers on Instagram, sharing behind-the-scenes images from the set that intriguingly concealed her face, with her back turned to the camera. In the photos, she is dressed in a long skirt paired with a red shirt, her hair tied with ribbons. Accompanying the images, she wrote:
“Dear God, grant my request so I may never deviate from doing good deeds. I shall have no fear of the enemy when I go into battle, and with determination, I will be victorious. That, I may teach my mind to only sing your praises. And when the time comes, I should die fighting heroically on the field of battle. Let the war begin! Gandhari.
This project marks the sixth collaboration between Pannu and Dhillon, following successful ventures such as Manmarziyaan, Haseen Dillruba, and its sequel “Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba,” which premiered on Netflix in August 2024.
As “Gandhari” progresses through its production phases, audiences eagerly await further glimpses into the film’s development and Pannu’s portrayal of a fierce, mission-driven mother. The collaboration of Taapsee, Dhillon, and Makhija is set to deliver a compelling addition to the action-thriller genre in Indian cinema
