Mangaluru | 2 May 2025
A horrific incident has surfaced from Mangaluru, Karnataka, when a Bajrang Dal worker, Suhas Shetty, was brutally killed in public. The killing was taped, which is now being circulated on social media in large numbers. In the video, many men are seen beating Suhas with knives in broad daylight. Surprisingly, some eyewitnesses were present but did not do anything, just watching the barbaric assault go on.
As per the police, the dead youth has been identified as Suhas Shetty, a member of the known Bajrang Dal. The incident has sparked serious doubts regarding law and order in the region.
The first police inquiry has also shown that Suhas Shetty was alleged to have killed a man called Faizal. Faizal’s murder is said to have occurred following the assassination of BJP worker Praveen Netaru. This series of violent crimes suggests possible links to political or communal tensions. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has already been probing the murder of Praveen Netaru, and Suhas’s case could now add more depth to such an investigation.
Following Suhas Shetty’s public murder, the Mangaluru situation has tensed up. As a precautionary measure in anticipation of possible unrest or communal clashes, the police have intensified security at sensitive areas, including the hospital where Suhas’s body is detained. More police contingents have been deployed across the city to forestall any further incidents.
BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has arrived at the hospital and is following the situation closely. He has spoken to the officials and asked for a detailed and swift inquiry into the attack.
The police have not yet confirmed the attackers’ identities, but the investigation is continuing. The officials are also screening CCTV footage and cellphone videos to track the suspects involved.
This incident has outraged Bajrang Dal and BJP supporters, with the majority demanding justice and tougher action against the culprits. Law enforcement agencies and the state government are under scrutiny to contain the situation and prevent it from going out of control.
