This might heat up relations between the Satlin-led government and RN Ravi. Traditionally, Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu is sung first, followed by the National Anthem. However, this wasn’t the case this time. In the recent National assembly, they played just the Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu, due to which the governor walked off without reading the governor’s address at the end of the assembly. This is the second consecutive time the government has left the House without reading the government address.
There was a post from The Rajbhavan TN on X, which thoroughly stated, “The Constitution of Bharat and the National Anthem were once again insulted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today. Respecting the National Anthem is among the first Fundamental duties as enshrined in our Constitution. It is sung in all the state legislatures at the beginning and the end of the Governor’s address. Today on the arrival of the Governor to the House only Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu was sung.  Governor respectfully reminded the House of its Constitutional Duty and fervently appealed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister who is the Leader of the House and the Hon’ble Speaker for singing the National Anthem. However, they cussedly refused. It is a matter of grave concern. Not to be a party to such brazen disrespect to the Constitution and the National Anthem, Governor in deep anguish left the House.”
According to the details RN Ravi insisted on the National Anthem to be played but it was refused by the assembly, and Raj Bhavan later on said said, “Respecting national anthem fundamental duty. Is sung in state legislatures at beginning, end of Governor’s address”.
