US NSA Jake Sullivan to visit India on Jan 5 and 6 to finalize important ongoings.

Jan 4 Saturday, 2025 Washington: US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan will visit India on January 5 and 6 to meet his Ajit K Doval and other top government officials. They aim to finalize important ongoing initiatives and discuss a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global issues.

Appointed by President Joe Bident on January 20, 2021, would also deliver an India-centric foreign policy speech at IIT, New Delhi. His trip will be the last high-profile visit to New Delhi from the outgoing Biden administration. The inauguration of Donald Trump during his last trip to India before leaving for office, as Congressman Michael Waltz will succeed him. The main purpose of his visit will be a capstone engagement and dialogue with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, focusing on finalizing ongoing initiatives and discussing key issues.

Sullivan’s trip is also expected to assess the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET), which involves collaborations in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotech, and defense innovation. The visit comes after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar concluded a six-day visit to the US, and ahead of the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States on January 20. Although, there is no official announcement has been made yet on the US NSA’s visit to India.

The iCET was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Biden in May 2022. With an aim to build greater collaboration between the two countries in areas of critical technologies. Sullivan last visited India in June last year. Keep Reading Questiqa India for more updates.
