An Army vehicle descended into a 350-foot gorge in Jammu and Kashmir district, which killed 5 soldiers. A vehicle carrying 10 army personnel, lost control of the vehicle, due to which it fell into a 350-foot gorge resulting in the death of 5 soldiers.

In the accident the vehicle belonged to the 11 Madras Light Infantry (11MLI), which was heading to the Nilam Headquaters to Balnoi Ghora Post, as per the reports, 5 soldiers were killed, and the other 5 soldiers sustained injuries, this army vehicle diverged off course and dove into the water in the Balnoi area of Mendar in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday which is near the Balnoi Ghora Post, the officials said. Many officials suspected a brake failure initially, but after a conversation with the survivors, that inspection was ruled out. The military officials also investigated any involvement in terrorist activities.

As soon as the news reached headquarters the Quick Reaction Team of 11MLI made its way to the suite to conduct rescue operations to save the soldiers. Congress President Mallikarjun offered deepest condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives in the accident, “Deeply anguished by the terrible news of the martyrdom of five of our brave Indian Army soldiers in a vehicle tragedy in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of our brave hearts. We salute their sacrifice and selfless service to the nation. Our thoughts are with the injured and we wish them a speedy and complete recovery,” Kharge said in a post on X. #whiteknightcorps extended their condolences through a post on X.
