January 8, Islamabad, Pakistan: Pakistan faces threats from its bureaucrats with 22,000 of them having dual citizenship. Pakistan allows bureaucrats with dual nationality with certain countries like the US. However, they have prohibited these bureaucrats from working for the armed forces, parliamentarians, and the Judges of the Supreme Court.

Pakistan’s issues regarding finance and economy are globally recognized, the country is on the verge of breaking down, and the country’s economy has immensely dropped. As per the reports, more than 22,000 government officials in Pakistan have dual nationality and they share citizenship with another country. The National Assembly Panel the other day was directed about the situation and how this could lead to a huge threat to the country’s national security.

The Committee of the National Assembly met on Monday with Raja Khurram Nawaz, the members raised their concerns over this issue and also voiced their opinions on this matter, and also took measures to restrict the threatening practices for the parliamentarians, the meeting focused on the Pakistani citizens to discuss and raise issues regarding the dual nationality agreements.

This meeting revealed that 22,000 bureaucrats hold dual citizenship, Committee member Abdul Qadir Patel was surprised that members of the National Assembly and Judges of the country are prohibited from holding dual citizenship. He also brought up the issue of why politicians of the country are not given dual citizenship, which is in order to safeguard national security.
