On Thursday, Aam Aadmi Party Thursday, said it would consider the removal of Congress from the opposition India bloc, the reason being allegedly calling the former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, “an Anti-Nationalist”. Soon after a press conference was held in which the AAP MP, Singh demanded strict action against Maken. The Chief Minister accused the Congress of conspiring with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections, which will take place around the month of February. AAP and the Congress are part of the India bloc, however, they are also contesting the elections separately.
Atishi said, “Yesterday, Congress’ senior leader Ajay Maken said that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is Anti-National”, later on, he also added, “I want to ask the Congress party if they have ever leveled the same allegations against any BJP leader, No. But Today Congress is being accused of given the accusation on Arvind Kejriwal”.
Maken had called Kejriwal, Anti-National, in the AAP’s public stance on the issues of Article 370 of the constitution which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Maken also said that Congress had made a mistake by collaborating with the AAP in the general elections. “I feel that today the current plight of Delhi, and that of the Congress, is due to our support to the AAP in 2013” he also stated that it was perhaps a mistake that was made again in the Lok Sabha polls.
India bloc had lost all seven seats in Delhi to BJP, in the General Election, Maken made comments as the Congress released a “white paper” highlighting the unfulfilled promises made by the AAP in the National Capital and BJP-led Union for 10 years. Aitishi also alleged, that Congress Candidates receiving funds from the BJP.
