Expressways are being constructed for efficient connectivity across the country. The construction of these expressways will benefit crores of people residing in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, and Bihar. These 11 Expressways will enhance the country’s road infrastructure and reduce congestion in cities. The opening of 11 Expressways will change India’s picture. The names of expressways are as follows:
- In Uttar Pradesh, expressways like the Bundelkhand Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, and Agra-Lucknow Expressway are already operational. In contrast, others like the Ganga Expressway and Gorakhpur Link Expressway are expected to be completed soon. The distance of -Kanpur Expressway will be 85 Km.
- Maharastra will see the development of expressways such as the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway, Mumbai-Pune Expressway, and the Coastal Road project.
- Other states like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan are undergoing expressway construction, including the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which will pass through multiple states.
- The construction of these expressways is part of India’s broader initiative to enhance its road infrastructure, with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) aiming to complete several key projects by 2025.
Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway extends through Lucknow, Unna, and Rae Bareli. its distance will be 85 km. After the construction of the road, it will take only 40-45 min to reach Lucknow from Kanpur. Ganga Expressway will pass through 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh. its distance will be as vast as 94 km. The journey is expected to be completed in 6 hours only which used to take 12 hours earlier.
The Delhi Amritsar expressway is distanced by 669 km. This road will go through the districts of Haryana, Punjab Jammu, and Kashmir. Its construction will make the journey of people going to Mato Vaidhno Devi smoother. AMas- Darbhanga Expressway will become the first expressway of Bihar state to have a total length of 189 km. This expressway will pass through Gaya, Patna, Aurangabad, Vaishali, Samastipur, Arwal and Jehanabad. The journey will be only 4 hours long.
The Ahmedabad -Dholera expressways are expected to be ready by March. Its distance is going to be 109 km. The completion of these projects will largely benefit the people of the nation making it easier for people and employment opportunities will also increase for people.
