Business Tycoon Gautam Adani linked to a criminal case

January 4, New York: Business Tycoon Gautam Adani is linked to a criminal case. United States District Judge Nicholas Garaufis is taking over their cases. Gautam Adani is now to face the US judiciary due to the arranging the years-long scheme which was to pay $250 million for bribing Indian Officials to reserve their favorite positions in the solar power contracts.

The New York Court has removed the case that goes under the civil and criminal cases against the tycoon Gautam Adani and several others which has now been passed to the State District Judge.

According to the resources, the district court has cases that share the same allegations about transaction bribery. When consulted with the district judge, Nicholas Garaufis, the Security and Exchange Commission was also concerned about this current issue. To ensure judicial efficiency and prevent conflicts in all three cases filed under criminal cases. Thus, Magistrate Judge Vera M. Scanlon issued the order on December 12, 2024.

The US Judge Nicholas Garaufis will now take over the cases, however, Gautam Adani will now face the US Department Of Justice(DOJ) for the years-long scheme to pay $250 million to Indian Officials to secure their favorite positions.

The Adani Group has however dismissed all the allegations made by the DOJ and SEC which is the Securities Exchange Commission as baseless rumors. A company spokesperson said, “The allegations made against directors of the Adani Green are without any merit. The charges are merely allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty”
