Hindenburg Research, a US-based short seller typically known for targeting several business groups, including the Adani Group and US-based Nikola has announced it will be disbanded. The announcement was made on January 16, 2025, after Hindenburg’s reports that triggered significant short-selling by investors and investigations by authorities, leading to substantial declines in the market values of affected companies. In recent years, Gautam Adani had said that Hindenberg Research’s damning report against the Adani group was not just to destabilize the Apples into a conglomerate but to politically defame India’s government actions.

This year the company owner Anderson took to Ernie Garcia III’s by accusing him and his father of an “accounting grift for the ages.” The executive officer of a car retailer dismissed Hindernberg’s arguments as “intentionally misleading and inaccurate.”
