Kisan Mahapanchayat Announces Village Bandh on January 29 in Rajasthan

Kisan

20 January, Rajasthan: The farmers’ movement is gaining momentum as Kisan Mahapanchayat proclaimed a statewide village bandh on January 29, 2025, in Rajasthan. A preparatory Kisan Mahapanchayat was conducted in Harsoli, Alwar, from where farmers of 21 districts have committed their support. According to Rampal Jat, National President of Kisan Mahapanchayat, leaders are present in villages convincing farmers to join the protest.

The key characteristic of the bandh is that villagers will not take out their agricultural produce from the village. However, there will be no restrictions for traders who come into the villages to buy the produce. Services and essential activities will not be disturbed during the movement. Jat pointed out that this program, which is purely based on voluntary participation, will cover all the 45,537 villages in Rajasthan.
