Stampede in Tirupati Balaji Temple kills 6 people

January 9, Tirupati Balaji Temple: A Stampede in Tirupati Balaji Temple killed 6 people on Wednesday, a stampede-like situation occurred at Vishnu Nivasam during the distribution of Tirumala Srivari Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan tokens in Tirupati. Six devotees have reportedly lost their lives in the incident.

This stampede occurred as multiple lodged in line to get their tokens, which were being distributed. However, hundreds of devotees turned up from across the country for the 10-day Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam commencing on January 10. The stampede occurred when hundreds of devotees waited for tickets for Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala Hills, said the police of Andhra Pradesh.

In this incident, at least 6 people, which in detail include 3 women and 3 men, lost their lives, while the others were terribly injured and also caused minor injuries to some individuals who visited.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu expressed his shocked emotions over the stampede and viewed the situation with DGP, TTD EO, District Collector, and SP. The CM of Andhra Pradesh is expected to visit the victims according to the statement given out by the Chief Minister’s Office and said he will be looking into these things to prevent future incidents to ensure the safety of the people.
