Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 92 due to age-related medical conditions. He experienced a sudden loss of consciousness at his residence and was immediately transported to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. Despite prompt resuscitative efforts, he was declared dead at 9:51 PM.
In recent months, Dr. Singh’s health had been in decline. Following his passing, his body was transported from AIIMS to his residence in a special ambulance. A seven-day national mourning period has been declared to honor his memory. His last rites are scheduled to take place near Rajghat, with full state honors. Prior to the funeral, his mortal remains will be placed at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters for public homage.
Following the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, numerous political leaders and Team India have expressed their condolences on X (formerly Twitter). Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda, visited Dr. Singh’s residence to pay their respects.
